A 15-metre wave-carved sea stack — the famous “rhino rock” — off the east side of the Vatnsnes peninsula. At low tide you can walk the black beach right up to the stack; at high tide it stands surrounded by the sea. Seals often haul out on the sand nearby.

⚠️ CautionThe path down to the beach is steep and can be treacherous. You can only reach the stack at low tide — watch the incoming water, as the sand around it goes under at high tide.
