Tide times — Brimketill (rock pool)

Tide tables · nearest station: Grindavík · updates automatically

A wave-carved natural pool in the lava cliffs at Staðarberg, just west of Grindavík. Folklore has it that the troll-woman Oddný bathed here — hence its old name, Oddnýjarlaug. A viewing platform overlooks the pool, and the surf is most dramatic when the sea is high and a swell is running.

⚠️ CautionThis is not a bathing spot. Breakers wash over the rocks without warning — stay on the viewing platform and never venture out onto the cliff edge.
